Correctional Managed Health Care (CMHC)
Correctional Managed Health Care is a major division of
the University of Connecticut Health Center, charged with
fulfilling the health center’s responsibility for providing
health care to the state’s jail and prison inmates.
The Connecticut Department of Correction, in partnership
with the Health Center, is
committed to providing:

Vision
CMHC will become a national leader in correctional health
care in collaboration with the Connecticut Department of
Corrections and the UConn Health Center.
Mission
CMHC shall provide compassionate and clinically
appropriate health care to inmates within the Department of
Corrections correctional facilities and halfway houses. Our
services shall be resource-sensitive and promote a safe,
secure and healthy environment that supports successful
re-integration into the community.
